Former SVP of Partnerships, BigCommerce
I am pleased to offer my strong recommendation for Patrick Gavinski, with whom I worked closely during my tenure as SVP of Partnerships at BigCommerce.
Patrick joined BigCommerce in 2016 as a Senior Account Executive and, over the course of nearly nine years, established himself as one of the organization's most effective enterprise sales professionals. I had direct visibility into his work throughout that period, particularly as it intersected with the partnerships organization I led.
Two qualities defined Patrick's professional trajectory during our time together. The first was his command of enterprise deal strategy. BigCommerce's competitive positioning in the enterprise segment required sellers to manage complex, multi-threaded sales cycles involving technical evaluators, procurement stakeholders, and executive sponsors simultaneously. Patrick developed a sophisticated approach to these engagements: disciplined in qualification, deliberate in sequencing, and effective at building consensus across buying committees.
The second was his ability to operate within and leverage a partner ecosystem. Co-selling with agency and technology partners is a skill many sales professionals underestimate. Patrick understood the mechanics of partner-influenced deals and worked proactively with my team of partner managers to bring the right relationships to bear at the right moments. The result was stronger deal velocity and higher close rates on his most complex opportunities.
In the final year of my time at BigCommerce, Patrick transitioned into a management role. That move reflected both his individual accomplishments and his demonstrated capacity to develop others. I observed him apply the same rigor and growth mindset to leading a team that he had applied to his own craft.
Patrick Gavinski is equally well-positioned for a senior enterprise sales role or a sales leadership position. I recommend him without reservation.
